The ProCSI system consists of generic modules that can be combined
as a base system to fulfil different customer needs.
Base system can further be extended with extension modules that fulfil case specific
requirements, functionality, decision making and tasks. The extensibility is designed
to be a standard feature in ProCSI. This leads to efficient (performance, costs
and development time) and robust system without having to compromise in case specific
requirements.
The messaging is based on IPC CAMX
(2541, 2546, 2547 and relevant MES level standard messages 255x). The message delivery system between distributed entities conform
IPC 2501 message broker and extend it to active two way connections in critical
tasks. CAMX means ”Computer Aided Manufacturing Using XML” which describes of its
characteristics. Basically it is XML messages that are delivered through SOAP interfaces
via http and TCP/IP protocols e.g. Generic web standards. This gives a good opportunity
to use generic tools when implementing CAMX standards.
Features
The modules of ProCSI can implement following features as standard parts of the
system. Additional features and tailored parts can be added by registering new modules
that are developed in the integration project. The ProCSI features include:
Data aquisition / collection
Data collection can be implemented with IPC CAMX (IPC-2500 family of standards)
interface, SECS II/GEM interface, OPC interface or custom interface. There is a
client toolkit that helps implementing standard interfaces to even old proprietary
equipment.
On-Line Data storing
Configuration data, production data and aquired measurement and event data are stored
in ProCSI database. Database is highly configurable for different environments and
purposes so the same standard tools can be used in a variety of installations.
History data storing
Data can be moved from On-Line database to history database and at
the same time the resolution of the data can be changed and data is packed to be
more suitable for long term storage and history data archiving.
Security management
The users and user groups of the system can be managed with user management module.
Individual user rights can be assigned to users / groups.
Product management
Product types and groups can be managed and parameterized with product management
module. Production / Process Control Production can be managed with order management
tools to form production orders and in each order one or multiple production lots.
Production can also be automated so that lots are automatically generated by a business
logic -module. In process industry there are no products used as system entity.
Monitoring
Factory floor can be monitored with visual monitoring tools that give instant ”big
picture" view of the process states, material flows and equipment states (quality
view). Also quantitative view where production volume and current capacity and usage
is implemented in the monitoring group of modules. Individual measurements can also
be monitored as graphs. Monitored measurements or tags can be grouped as templates.
Reporting
Printed and web reports can be run on several areas of collected data such as
– Production reports
– Genealogy reports and other product reports
– Measurement trend reports
Data exchange interfaces
ProCSI can be automatically or manually connected to other systems in factory floor
or ERP. Connections can be for example periodic reporting (push), event based triggering
or report downloading (pull) interfaces.
– MES data exchange interfaces
– ERP data exchange interfaces, such as SAP R/3
– 3rd party data exchange interfaces
